Web Big Stakes Poker- Who is Gus Hansen?
Gus Hansen had a wonderful year on the WPT where he was the only gambler to make it to the last game in three of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might recall one of the largest pots in high stakes poker recorded history up against Daniel Negreanu. He secured a huge pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has earned many tv poker appearances and is thought to be one of the greatest players anywhere in the world. While betting on online poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. Gus frequently competes in the 200/400 NL maximum buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus frequently buys-in for the minimum of $16, 000 and plays very weak. He sits there waiting for a decent hand and then pushes all-in. I accept that Gus is an excellent poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is broke, he has absolutely no reason to settle at the table with the minimum buy-in.
Buying in for the minimum takes a majority of the expertise out of big stack poker. Gus is accepted to be 1 of the greatest poker players in the world but he cannot buy-in for the total amount. I believe television can alter our perception of the real world sometimes. The best poker players anywhere in the world might just be guys you have won’t have heard of. Gus can be found wagering on internet poker on Full Tilt. He generally participates in high stakes omaha hold’em and Holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a competition player. Can he back up his abilities in cash games?
