No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been labeled as the greatest poker competitor on the planet by quite a few of the top pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before reaching the age of one. His papa taught Phil penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wanted to learn every little thing he could about the game. Phil would tell his parents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. He didn’t permit the adverse comments from others annihilate his ambition of being one of the greatest poker players in the world.
He started competing intently after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the casinos in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for him were a teaching opportunity and winning was not a common thing at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved two final tables and won his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he destroyed many of the better known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil decided to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Ivey credits his success to dedication and an immeasurable love for the game of poker. Phil states that he’s picking up skills every day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. Phil knows he makes errors in each session of poker and constantly aspires to get better.
Even though Ivey has come first in some big tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
