The Background of Poker Chips

Gaming chips have been manufactured from a varied range of materials in an almost infinite selection of styles since the advent of gambling and the need to keep an eye on winnings. The most common components used at this time in the manufacture of cutting-edge poker chips are plastic, clay, and acrylics. Clay chips, the original of the bunch, have been made in the US since the late 19th century.

Back in the 1800s, poker enthusiasts seemed to use any tiny object with value imaginable. Early poker enthusiasts occasionally employed jagged gold pieces as well as chips – normally made of wood and clay. By the 20th century, poker chip designs began to employ a greater prominence, and the smooth sides of older chips were given up to chips with engraved slits to hold them neatly arranged together.

There is little debate that poker has grown constantly in universal appeal ever since its beginnings in the 1800s. With the explosive increase of net gaming and unique TV shows, community appeal in poker has feed the fire a lot faster than ever before. Many folks are initially introduced to poker by TV showssuch as "Celebrity Poker" or "Poker After Dark," and most will participate in their initial hands on the web. Regardless of online poker’s rise, not much replaces the feeling of shuffling heavy poker chips in your hands, throwing chips into the middle of a poker table, or stacking tall pilesstacks of chips after displaying a winning hand.
